Does Technology Harm My Chakras?
Your electronics DO affect your chakras! Our seven physical chakras are aligned along the spine from the tailbone (root chakra) to the top of the head (crown chakra). These chakras have a direct impact on our physical health. Our body is also surrounded (and permeated by) an electromagnetic energy field, often called an aura. This concentration of energy is affected by other energies, sometimes in a good way, and sometimes in a very bad way.
Modern Life and Its Effect on the Chakras
Many people believe that our body generates our aura (since it basically follows the body’s shape) but in fact, it is our aura – our energy – that creates the body as a concentration of energy that vibrates at a rate that is calibrated to our physical senses, giving the appearance of a “solid” mass we call the body.
Basically, we are bioelectrical beings. Since we can’t see this energy, it can be hard to observe if it is healthy – in the correct vibrational state – or not. But you don’t have to look any further than your physical state, or your emotional state, to assess the health of your energy.
When it comes to energy, it is well known that different energies impact one another and there is always a give and take of energy. Our bodies are essentially attuned to the Schumann Resonance, which is the electromagnetic vibration of the planet Earth – it is a resonance that our bodies and brains need for optimal health. Modern technology has a very measurable impact on the body because it interferes with that resonance.
Why does this resonance matter? When two or more energies vibrate at different speeds and amplitudes, they will eventually sync – either the lower frequency will speed up, or the higher frequency will slow down. That is why we feel great out in Nature, because our bodies come into resonance with the Earth and we feel restored and whole. But when this harmony is disturbed with manmade electronics – which DO NOT adjust their resonance to things around them – it creates an unnatural resonance that is harmful to the body, and creates disturbances in the energy vortexes we know as the chakras.
This “electromagnetic pollution” is very prevalent today, especially with the use of smartphones. Mental illness, agitation and anxiety, autism, inability to focus, chronic fatigue, sleep disturbances, migraines and various nervous disorders have been directly traced to the harmful effects of man-made instruments, most notably the stuff we have in our lives everyday: computers, WiFi, cell phones, smart meters, TVs, radios, stereos, printers, and all household appliances. In the natural world, it is believed that EMF disturbances are causing “colony collapse disorder” in honeybees.
These man-made vibrations cause our cells to vibrate at a rate that is unnatural to them (as they attempt to match their vibration with that of the electronic device) – causing disharmony and its effects, including chronic disease.
So how can you protect yourself, without going back to the pre-technological era?
Spend more time outdoors, in Nature!Limit cell phone time. Turn it off when you’re not using it, and do not sleep with it near your head. This is particularly important with smartphones. Put your smartphone on airplane mode, as this helps significantly.
Because our bodies detoxify during sleep, create a “clean space” in your bedroom – NO TV, no computers, and no cell phones in your bedroom. You can go so far as to unplug anything electronic in your room, but maintaining a distance of 6 feet (2 meters) or more to an inactive (turned off) electronic device will help.
Spend as much time outdoors as you can, WITHOUT your cell phone. Really, it’s okay – you can Facebook about your experiences later, not in the moment.
If you spend a lot of time in front of the computer for work, it’s a good idea to take frequent breaks to go outside for a breath of fresh air and to ground yourself to the Earth.
Technology is part of who we are today, and unless you go live someplace completely remote, you’re not going to be able to escape it. However, you can minimize the impact on your chakras by limiting your time around “active” electronics by keeping them shut off, and having a lot of outside time!
