Stop Being So Busy, to Heal Your Chakras!
We often feel trapped in a web of DOINGBusy-ness depletes your chakras. You probably know this intuitively, but it’s really really hard to avoid it, in today’s hurry-up-and-do-more-stuff world. We are, for the most part, rushed, overwhelmed, tired, stressed and a little or a lot hopeless about the whole thing. We often feel trapped in a web of hurrying up to meet other people’s expectations.
Multi-tasking and sleep deprivation are the norm. How many people actually sit down to a nice leisurely dinner anymore, let alone breakfast? Not many. Food is taken on the run, on the go, and it’s just fuel, not an enjoyable experience.
Our faces are glued to little glowing rectangles, and because we miss out on what’s going on around us, we feel like we’re missing out on life (sadly, true!). So when we have a little free time, we try to squeeze in as much “living” as we can. Which, ironically, leads to even more stress because there’s just never enough time to do what we want.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re bouncing around like a hyper-caffeinated monkey, you’re not alone. It’s modern life – but you CAN get off the treadmill. You CAN release the frenetic pace and in the process, redefine your life and heal your chakras.
It’s hard to let go of doing. We think that nothing will get done, if we slow down. But the reality is, we will NEVER GET IT ALL DONE. Ever. There’s just no way. Even if you’re fast, diligent and extraordinarily motivated, and you tick off everything on your to-do list, there will be another to-do list waiting for you tomorrow.
That’s just the way it is. There will NEVER be a day when you can finally kick back and spend the rest of your days doing nothing.
And how boring would that be, right?
So first and foremost, LET GO of the need to get it all done.
Instead, focus on smoothing out your energy by being less busy. Instead of a raging river with whitewater and turbulence, aim for a steady flow. Second, try slowing down so that what you do get done, is something you will be proud of. Something you’ll feel good about putting your name on. Take your time and focus on excellence in every task you do; take your time and appreciate the moments that make up your day; take your time and be present.
It’s not easy to slow down and live at a more unhurried pace. To “stop and smell the roses.” We’re conditioned to move fast and get a lot done! I’m not saying slack off and do things more slowly than they need to be done; I’m saying, stop RUSHING. Rushing leads to mistakes. Mistakes lead to do-overs and time wasted – not to mention the stress of having to deal with consequences. So work at a pace that is efficient, but not rushed.
Third, prioritize. You don’t have to do all the stuff you’re doing on a daily basis – number one on my list is to get rid of the TV. I know that’s a drastic move for many, but how about cutting your TV time to one hour a day? That’s plenty of time to relax and decompress from the day, and it frees up lots of time to exercise, meditate, take a luxurious bath, get a massage, have a hobby, make love, read, work on a goal, clean the house… all the things that get pushed aside when we realize that three hours have been sucked away (permanently) with a “reality” show.
When you slow down, and when you prioritize your life, you’ll suddenly find that you feel more whole… calmer… happier.
Spend some time in Nature, whenever you can. Meditate. Do all the stuff you’ve been putting off, to boost your confidence and self-esteem. Think about your dreams – really THINK about them. Visualize, plan, write, actively work on them.
